Is it time to write a new story?

Updated: Jul 20, 2020

Ever find yourself saying in exasperation, there's got to be a better way? The best thing I gained from my variety of former jobs was a better understanding of people. I have always been fascinated with what makes us tick, why we treat ourselves and others the way we do, and how we cope.

Working in the corporate environment, especially the hospitality industry, provided a great observation deck, but it left me feeling trapped. I could only deal with angry business travelers, and witness exhausted employees numb out on a diet of caffeine, alcohol, and cigarettes for so long before my welcome smile finally wore off.

As I too, found myself succumbing to the daily grind as a way of life,

something in me woke up.

I knew life wasn't meant to be lived like that.

There had to be a better way...

If you want to write a new chapter, you first have to turn the page...

I set out to find that way for myself and help others too, live a healthier lifestyle, and feel empowered. I followed my inner nudge and transitioned into the world of health & wellness.

Soon after, I read a tiny book that grabbed my attention and helped me see things from a whole new perspective- Holistic Living by Neale Donald Walsch.

The concept of holistic living made sense to me and expanded my view in seeing how we are each an integral part of this great web and how each facet of our lives affects the other.

During that time, I was teaching fitness classes and co-managing a health club.

It would pain me to see our members climb back up the scale again after they'd worked tirelessly for months to shed unwanted pounds.

Learning the concept of holistic wellness allowed me to better understand and help others see how our subconscious thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and actions play a part in behavior change and can often sabotage our success.

I knew there was much more to unpack here than what appeared to be from the outside.

I dove in. Deep.

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. -Wayne Dyer
